Odisha freedom fighters felicitated in national capital

Ahead of the ‘At Home’ ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan, four freedom fighters from Odisha were today felicitated by the Chief Resident Commissioner of the state in New Delhi.

The veteran freedom fighters Bhabani Charan Pattanayak, Dolagobinda Pradhan, Rabindra Nath Ray and Nilamani Samal are the special invitees from the state to be felicitated by PresidentPranab Mukherjee at the ‘At Home’ ceremony to be held tomorrow at the Rashtrapati Bhawan to commemorate the anniversary of the Quit India Movement or Kranti Divas.

The freedom fighters were accorded warm welcome at the Odisha Niwas in the national capital and the state government has made all arrangements for lodging and boarding.

They were extended a warm welcome by the office of the Chief Resident Commissioner on their arrival at Odisha Niwas yesterday and all arrangements have been made for their visit to Rashtrapati Bhawan tomorrow, a release said.

They shared their memories of the freedom struggle at the event.
