Odisha Gana Sikshaks to resume work from tomorrow

After spending months on the streets demanding permanent employment, Odisha Gana Sikshaks will finally go back to their schools starting tomorrow.

Based on the decision by a Ministerial Committee, Odisha Government today assured the teachers that the trained ones would be regularized starting FY 2016-17 in multiple phases.

As per information provided by Odisha Gana Sikshak Mahasangha, 17,653 teachers would be regularized in the first phase.

“We will regularize all the trained and eligible Gana Sikshaks in financial year 2016-17. The Government has taken a call on this. I would like to thank the President of Gana Sikshak Mahasangha and other executives for welcoming the decision and calling off their stir,” said Employment, Technical Education & Training Minister Sanjay Das Burma speaking to reporters today.

“We are very happy with the decision of the government and welcome it. I would like to thank Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for the outcome. I would urge the fellow teachers to resume their duties from tomorrow,” said President of Gana Sikshak Mahasangha Sarat Chandra Nayak.
