Odisha: Ganja smuggling racket busted, three arrested

Rourkela: Police today busted an inter-state ganja smuggling racket in Odisha’s Steel City-Rourkela and arrested three persons in this connection.

Police have seized 22 kg ganja, a country made pistol, two live bullets, a magazine and Rs 20,340 in cash from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as Radheshyam Chaurasia of Lauriya in Bihar, Bablu Patania and Anil Nial of Koraput, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed the trio while they alighted from a bus with the contraband near Sarna Chowk under Uditnagar police limits.

Police said the trio was nabbed from a bus which was coming to Rourkela from Koraput.

The trio had planned to smuggle the contraband to New Delhi, police added.
