Odisha girl Aditi Parida tops CDS exam among women

Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born Aditi Parida (20) has brought laurels to the state as she topped the Combined Defence Services (CDS)-II, 2019 examination among women. She is the first woman from Odisha to achieve the feat.

Hailing from Nadhara village of Dhenkanal district, Aditi is among the 241 candidates who cleared the exam. The merit list comprises a total of 241 candidates including 174 men candidates who cleared the exams for Officers Training Academy, Chennai for short service Commission Course and 67 woman candidates who cleared the exams for Officers Training Academy, Chennai, Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) Course.

Daughter of an Indian Army Brigadier, Aditi graduated in mass communication from Symbiosis College, Pune this year.

“I got motivated to join the Indian Army since my childhood as I was born and brought up in such an atmosphere. My father has also encouraged me for the same, “she said.

“Women from Odisha should also come forward and serve the nation by joining the Indian Army,” she added.
