Sharmishtha Parida, a Std-VII student of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur in Odisha capital won the second prize in an all India level painting competition held in New Delhi by Ministry of Water Resources of Govt of India at AP Shinde Symposium Hall of New Delhi.

DAVA total number of 105 best entrants from the length and breadth of the country had participated in the competition organized by the Central Ground Water Board on the theme of ‘Save Water for the Future’ on February 16.

Sharmishtha, who had been adjudged the best participant from Odisha earlier, was awarded with Rs 50,000 and a citation by Sanwar Lal Jat, Union minister of state for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.

She has been practising the latest genre of the art form under the guidance of Nilamani Muduli since an early age.
