Sundargarh, Feb 22:
A girl, who was admitted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) at Rourkela on late Saturday night, died this morning.
While the family members suspect that the girl was suffering from swine flu, hospital sources however could not confirm that the death was due to the disease.
Sources said, Asha Badra (18), daughter of Ghan Shyam Badra of Manoharpur of West Signghbhum district of Jharkhand, was in Delhi for last two weeks. However, she complained of cough and cold after her return to her village.
Later, the family members admitted her to IGH with acute respiratory problem.
As the family members had suspected that she might be suffering from swine flu, the doctors had taken special care and admitted her in special ward and provided necessary treatment but she died at IGH at 12.30 AM on Sunday.
“Since respiratory failure occurs due to several reasons, it cannot be confirmed that the patient died of swine flu”, said BB Rao, director IGH.
