Odisha girl Padmalaya meets Union Home Min ahead of two intl beauty contests

Odisha girl Padmalaya Nanda, who qualified for two international beauty contests, met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi before heading for participating at the events in Georgia and Greece.

The 12-year-old girl, who is a class VIII student at the Stewart School in Cuttack, will represent India in two beauty pageants — Little Miss Universe and Little Miss World — scheduled from May 31 till June 6 in Georgia and Greece respectively.

Audience can help Odia girl to bag the Little Miss Universe title at the international beauty contest through voting. The voting process has begun till 9 am on June 4. To vote Padmalaya, log on to www.pageantvote.net/pageants/1133/contestants/9636. Before casting the vote, the users have to verify their account through facebook.

Earlier, Padmalaya had met Odisha Governor SC Jamir and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ahead of the competition.

She is the first ever girl from north-east and eastern India to be the contestant in international beauty pageants.

She has made the State proud by clinching the Little Miss title at the grand finale of Junior Model International beauty pageant in Kerala in April.
