Odisha godman’s lie nailed; he did go to Hyderabad with woman

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Aug 7:

Self-styled Odisha godman Sarathi Baba’s claim that he never went to Hyderabad during the period when he is alleged to have stayed in a posh hotel there in the company of a young woman has fallen flat on its face in the light of clinching and damning proof which has now emerged.

Evidence dug out by an enterprising section of the media has now proven that the Baba had booked two tickets  – one in his own name (Mr. S Sarathi) and the other in the name of (Mrs) R Mallick – from Bhubaneswar to Hyderabad on an Indigo flight (6E 263) on July 3, 2015.

The two tickets had been booked by Santhua Online Service, a travel agency, at Nimchouri near the High Court Square in Cuttack nearly a month before the actual travel: at 9:04:03 on June 5, to be precise.

While the Baba’s ticket cost Rs 5823, the ticket booked in the name of his ‘wife’ a few minutes later cost Rs 200 less. The contact number for the two tickets was 7077107874.

The Baba arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport with R Mallick at 8.30 AM on July 3 and checked in at 9.05 AM. He and his female companion boarded the flight and occupied seat nos 17 E and 17 F allotted to them. While R Mallick, who the Baba showed as his wife, took the window seat, the Baba sat next to her.

The flight took off at 10 am and landed at the Hyderabad airport at 11.35 AM. Soon after landing, they were taken to Golkonda Hotel on a vehicle sent by the hotel after the flight.

All this evidence ferreted out by the media conclusively nails the Baba’s lie that he never went to Hyderabad during the period in question.

In a media briefing on August 5, the Baba had claimed that he had never gone to Hyderabad. While admitting that the pictures showing him wearing T-shirt and jeans and aired on a TV channel were true, he said they were from a hotel near Lord Mahakaleswar temple in Ujjain, and not Golconda Hotel in Hyderabad.

It also proves that the mother of R Mallick was also lying when she told the media yesterday that her daughter, who is an MBBS student of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, never went to Hyderabad and was very much in the hostel from July 2 to 8.

TV channels, it may be noted, have already displayed the xerox copy of the Mallick’s application requesting the Matron of the SCB ladies’ hostel to allow her to go on leave from July 2 to 8 on account of her illness.

On the picture the hotel name seems to be Hotel Crown Palace and in google the hit is near Indore — about an hour from Ujjain temple… at least that part of Baba’s claim seems to be true
