Odisha: Gold bars worth over Rs 20L seized at Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar: Customs officials seized gold bars worth over Rs 20 lakh from two passengers at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in the Odisha capital this evening.

The two have been arrested by Customs officials.

As many as 33 gold bars worth over Rs 20 lakh were seized from two passengers who had arrived in Bhubaneswar from Kuala Lumpur on an AirAsia flight, sources said.

They had hidden the gold bars inside the handle of a customized screwdriver, sources added.

This is said to be the biggest ever seizure smuggled gold at BPIA.
