Odisha government announces list of holidays in 2022 for its offices; check details

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has declared the list of holidays for its offices, Revenue and Magisterial Courts, banks and other banking institutions in the State for the Calendar Year 2022.

Government official sources said a total of 27 holidays have been announced for the State government offices, and Revenue and Magisterial Courts (Executive). As many as 18 holidays have been declared for the banks and other banking institutions in the State.

The sources added May 16, the birthday of Pandit Raghunath Murmu has been declared as a holiday for the Calendar Year 2022. Baisakha Purnima and Budhha Jayanti also fall on the same day.

The birthday of Pandit Raghunath Murmu had been declared as optional holiday since 2017.

The government official sources further said considering the rich contribution of Pandit Raghunath Murmu for the propagation of Santali language, culture and creation of Ol Chiki script, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the birth day of Pandit Raghunath as a holiday.
