Odisha govt agencies file affidavits in HC on jaundice situation in Sambalpur

The Sambalpur district administration, Public Health department and Sambalpur Municipality today submitted affidavits before the Odisha High Court stating that necessary steps have been taken to contain the spread of jaundice in the western Odisha town.

The affidavits further stated that the disease was now under control and would be eradicated very soon.

The court has scheduled the next hearing in the matter after two weeks.

Meanwhile, the death toll due to jaundice in Sambalpur and its periphery has risen to 24 while the number of affected persons officially stood at 2,808.
