Odisha govt staff to get holiday during ULB polls on Apr 7

The Odisha government today announced a special holiday for its employees on the day of the civic body polls scheduled at nine places in the state on April 7.

According to a release issued by the chief minister’s office (CMO), employees belonging to Balimela, Sunabeda, Dharmagarh, Tusra, Daspalla, Ranpur, Redhakhol, Paradip and Belpahar urban local bodies (ULBs) where elections would be held on April 7, can avail the holiday.

Employees who belong to these ULBs and are willing to exercise their franchise at the district headquarters will have a holiday on April 7. Besides, they can also avail April 6 and April 8 as special public holiday.

Apart from this, employees belonging to these ULBs and working in government enterprises, boards and corporations will avail paid holiday on the polling day, the release added.
