Odisha govt appoints 483 doctors

Bhubaneswar: In an effort to address the shortage of doctors and improve healthcare services, the Odisha government today gave appointment to as many as 483 doctors.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik handed over the appointment letters at the State Secretariat here this afternoon.

The newly-recruited doctors will be placed in remote and rural areas in the State, an official communiqué said.

This apart, the State government will soon fill up 500 Assistant Section Officers posts at State Secretariat. As per the instruction of the CM, the Odisha Staff Selection Commission will soon start the recruitment process.

In another development, several organisations today donated money to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to aid families affected by the devastating floods in Kerala.

Odisha State Co-operative Handicrafts Corporation Limited (Utkalika), Odisha Co-operative Tassar and Silk Federation Limited, (Serifed) and Bhubaneswar Fortune Spirit Limited handed over Rs 1 lakh each to Patnaik at State Secretariat for Kerala flood victims.
