Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today given go ahead for recruitment of as many as 622 doctors, a day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved appointment of 938 MBBS doctors in the State.
With this, total 1560 doctors were appointed at various government-run medicals across the State.
Congratulating the newly recruited doctors, the Chief Minister urged them to discharge their duty honestly and sincerely to provide better healthcare to the people in the State.

These doctors will be recruited by Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) as Assistant Surgeons and will be posted at various hospitals across the state, said a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

Following the fresh appointment, the number doctors in the government sector have gone up to 6329 against the sanctioned strength of 6719.
