Odisha govt creates 108 additional posts to boost ICDS delivery system

Bhubaneswar:  The Odisha government today announced the creation of 108 additional posts under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), an initiative for the all-round development (health, nutrition and education) of children under 6.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed to the media here at State Secretariat this afternoon, saying the additional posts will bring immense improvement in delivery system.

These new posts include 93 Programme Officers at sub-division levels, 13 District Social Welfare Officers and 2 Deputy Director-Deputy Secretary at the State level.

The additional posts would strengthen human resources both at district and sub-divisional levels for effective management Government programmes.

The State government attaches great importance to woman and child welfare. The ICDS organisation plays a key role in this regard, Patnaik said.

“The new posts would boost activities in convergence with various other departments for effective monitoring of delivery of service,” the CM added.
