A meeting of the IT Department in this regard was today held at the State Secretariat after reports of Berhampur city hospital’s information management system getting affected with WannaCry ransomware.

“A preliminary team visited the Berhampur city hospital and they have sent us data regarding it. Another technical team comprising experts from IIIT, NIC and OCAC will also visit the hospital for further investigation,” said Information and Technology Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera after the meeting.

A toll free number will be issued for awareness and advice, he said.

Later in the day, the minister held a video conferencing with district collectors and sought a report regarding the numbers of new and old computers.

He also directed to update anti-virus software in systems and use genuine software/operating system instead of pirated one.

A review meeting in this regard will be held after two days, the minister said.
