Odisha govt issues fresh directive on vaccination of 45+ who took jab at pvt CVCs

Bhubaneswar: As the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stopped supply of Covid vaccines to private Covid vaccination centres (CVCs) from May 1, 2021, the Odisha government today stated those who have taken the first dose of the vaccine at such centres can take vaccine at government CVCs.

In a letter to the District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, CDMOs and PHOs, Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra stated beneficiaries including healthcare workers, frontline workers and aged 45 years or above, who had taken first dose at a private CVC on or before April 30, 2021, will be eligible to receive second dose at the government CVCs for free.

Such beneficiaries can also avail second dose of the vaccine in private CVCs being run under the ‘other than the Government of India’ channel on payment basis at the rate fixed by the private CVC.

Worth mentioning, the phase-III vaccination drive commenced from May 1, 2021 and all citizens aged 18 and above are eligible for Covid-19 vaccination.
