Odisha govt reappoints 336 erring teachers for Plus Two evaluation!

Eyebrows have been raised over the sudden change of tune of the Odisha government in engaging 336 examiners on whom it had served show cause notices for faulty evaluation of annual Plus Two papers last year.

Plus 2 evaluationReliable sources said the Higher Education department, which had served show cause notices on these examiners two months ago, has again appointed them for the evaluation of the annual Plus Two papers this year.

It may be mentioned that the Higher Education department, after a departmental investigation, had served show cause notices on these teachers on February 3 this year.

The additional secretary, Higher Education, Durga Prasad Behera had even announced in a press briefing that the department would suspend 13 examiners and if necessary, the department would write letters to the governing bodies of the private colleges for dismissal of the remaining teachers from their services.

A senior official of the department revealed that a total of 14,076 teachers were called up for evaluation of annual Plus Two papers this year. But as most of the government college teachers withdrew from the evaluation, the department had requested the private college teachers, including these 336 teachers for evaluation.

Surprisingly,the department has engaged these 336 teachers despite the fact that a majority of  them had expressed their unwillingness for evaluation, .
