The Odisha government today reduced bus fares in the state by two paise per km.
Announcing the decision to the media, Commerce and Transport minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi said the fare for ordinary buses would now be 60 paisa per km while it would be 63 paiseĀ for express buses.
The fare for delux and AC delux buses would now be 83 paise and Rs 1.02 paise per km respectively, the minister said.
It may be mentioned that the Technical Advisory Committee of Transport department, presided over by the Transport commissioner, had a discussion in this regard at an emergency meetingĀ here on Friday.
The state government had earlier reduced the bus fare by two paise in two phases following a fall in the diesel prices by Rs 9.17 in phases in the last two months.
