Odisha Govt takes action against South Point Hospital for BSKY irregularities

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government took stringent action against the South Point Hospital in Cuttack on allegations of irregularities under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY).

Following the complaint, the health authorities in the first phase de-empaneled the South Point Hospital and removed the Swasthya Mitra deployed to the said hospital.

Besides, the district administration has been asked to shift the patients undergoing treatment under BSKY at the hospital to appropriate BSKY empaneled private or government hospitals for further continuance of healthcare services.

The action taken against the hospital would come into immediate effect from today, informed Odisha Health & Family Welfare Secretary Shalini Pandit.

The government has instructed to further investigate into the claims raised by the said hospital earlier vis-a-vis claims scrutinized by Claim Panel Doctors of State Health Assurance Society. Intensive patient feedback is being collected through outbound calls to past patients at South Point Hospital in order to check past fraud, if any, she added.
