Odisha Govt to introduce certificate course on COVID-19 management for quarantinees
Bed capacity of COVID Care Centres in 6 Odisha districts will be increased in next one week.
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has decided to introduce a certificate course on COVID-19 management for inmates of Temporary Medical Camps (TMCs) across the state. After completion of the course, the inmates will be be issued with certificate.
On completion of their quarantine period, they will work as COVID-19 volunteers in their respective villages to spread awareness on the deadly disease and thereby helping the Government in containment of the virus.
The decision was taken at a review meeting on containment of COVID-19 and revival of economy held via video conference under chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today. At the meeting, it was also decided to increase the number of beds at COVID Care Centres in Ganjam, Balasore, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Balangir in next one week.
This apart, the CM decided to promulgate three ordinances to strengthen the farm economy of the state. To revive livelihoods and economy, the CM directed official concerned to accelerate MGNREGS and Mission Shakti programmes in the state. He asked all departments to make plans for provision of works to more number of people in the respective fields. Patnaik also assured to sanction addition funds to strengthen the rural economy.
“Mission Shakti workers have so far made over 50 lakh masks, out of which 46 lakh have already been distributed. Meanwhile, Rs 300 crore interest free loans have been provided to SHGs,” informed a communique issued by the CMO,
At the meeting, DGP Abhay and Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy were present among others.
