Odisha govt transfers senior IAS officer Taradatt

The Odisha government today relieved senior IAS officer Taradatt as KBK administrator and appointed him as full-time director general of Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, the post which he was holding as an additional responsibility.

The 1983 batch senior IAS officer Taradatt was replaced by 1981 batch IAS officer Ashok Tripathy as the administrator for KBK districts (old districts of Koraput, Balangir and Kalahandi).

Tripathy will also hold on to his earlier responsibility as the member Board of Revenue.

The notification to this effect was issued following formal approval by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today.

Political circles here feel Taradatt was shunted out because of his recent comments in the national media about development in these backward districts.
