Lawyers will join work from Monday, informed Ashok Kumar Mohapatra, president of the Association after the meeting.

The meeting which was presided by Mohapatra, it was attended by all members of the executive body including Association secretary Bijay Kumar Ragada.

It may be mentioned here that High Court lawyers had resorted to cease work from July 5 on a call given by the Association in protest against the manner in which senior High Court lawyer Debasish Panda was arrested by the CBI on July 4.

Panda was arrested by the CBI on July 4 after he was interrogated by the investigating agency for his alleged complicity in the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chit fund scam.

The Association had requested all bar associations of the state to observe July 8 as ‘protest day’.  Bar associations of all subordinate courts had abstained from work in support of the cease work call given by the Association.
