Odisha: Headmaster suspended for making students sweep floor

Malkangiri: The headmaster of MV-122 Project Upper Primary School in Kalimela area of Odisha’s Malkangiri district has been suspended for allegedly making some students sweep the floor of classroom.

According to reports, several classrooms of the boundary-less school lack doors which often facilitates cattle to defecate inside the classrooms during night.

Purna Chandra Patnaik, the accused headmaster, used to engage students for cleaning cow dung from the dirty classrooms between 10 am and 12 noon, following which the classes were commenced.

Though the parents of the students and villagers kept on opposing the incidents, the teacher continued to do so. Finding no other way, the villagers recorded the incident and sent it to the District Collector and Sub-Collector.

Taking strong action in the matter, the Collector has suspended the headmaster. On the other hand, Patnaik has rubbished the allegation levelled against him.
