Odisha headmaster suspended for molesting minor girl

Three days after the incident, a school headmaster was today placed under suspension for allegedly molesting a minor girl student of Sanakala Primary School under Balikuda Block in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.

As per reports, the accused headmaster attempted to molest the Class V girl while handing over the school uniform to her. He threatened the girl with dire consequences if she revealed it to anyone.

After returning from the school, the girl narrated the horrifying tale to her family members following which they registered a complaint with the Balikuda police station.

The local police have taken the accused under custody for interrogation, sources said.

After the matter was public, the District Education officer (DEO) suspended the accused headmaster.

Meanwhile, the Block Education Officer (BEO) has initiated a departmental inquiry into the matter.
