Odisha honeytrap case: Archana Nag’s husband Jagabandhu arrested

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police today arrested Jagabandhu Chand, husband of Archana Nag, the prime accused in the Odisha honeytrap case.

According to reports, a police team picked up Jagabandhu from his residence at Satya Vihar here, this morning and took him to an undisclosed location.

He was reportedly questioned by some senior police officials and later arrested.

While Archana is accused of extorting lakhs of rupees from politicians, businessmen and influential persons by blackmailing them with videos of intimate moments between her and them, Jagabandhu had alleged involvement in the offence.

Archana is currently lodged in Jharpada Special Jail here. She was arrested on October 7.

The accused used to identify herself as a lawyer and befriend influential persons on Facebook. She also used to invite them to her house and record the intimate moments on hidden cameras. Blackmailing them with the videos and demanding money from them was her modus operandi.

The entire matter came to light after Ollywood producer Akshay Kumar Parija lodged an FIR with the Nayapalli police alleging that a girl invited him to her house in Bhubaneswar for dinner, recorded objectionable videos and later started blackmailing him.
