Odisha HSC exams: 14 students booked for malpractice in Rayagada

A total of 14 students were booked for malpractice on the first day of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations in Odisha’s Rayagada district today.

RayagadaOf the 14 students, three are from Ugratara High School, three from Muniguda Boys High School and eight from Muniguda Girls High School centre, District Education Officer (DEO) Premananda Rout told OST.

He, however, said the examinations went smoothly in other centres of the district.

He said a 24-hour security has been put in place in 11 block offices where the question papers are kept. However, the district administration has kept the question papers for the Gudari, Chandrapur and Kashipur blocks in the respective police stations since these areas are Maoist-prone.

A total of 9038 Regular students and 838 ex-Regular students of the district are appearing in the examinations, Rout said, adding that the district administration, police and the School and Mass Education department are working in tandem to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations while steps have been taken to curb malpractice during the examinations.
