Odisha HSC exams: Training camp for central squad members begins

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) began a training camp for the members of the central squads it has formed for the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations in Odisha scheduled to begin on February 23.

The training camp is being conducted by the BSE president Prof Dakhshya Prasad Nanda, secretary Sidharth Dhal, Controller of Examinations Dr Nihar Ranjan Mohanty and other senior Board officials who briefed the central squad members on safe despatch of question papers from the nodal centres to the examination centres, safety of question papers at the examination centres, smooth and incident-free examinations, safe despatch of answer sheets from the examination centres to the nodal centres and supervision of duty of the centre superintendents and invigilators during examinations.

The Board has formed 40 central squads with each squad having two members. Each squad will monitor and supervise the examinations in 50-60 centres. The central squad would work in coordination with the district level squads.

While the Board has formed 57 squads at the district level, it has formed a special squad comprising the president, secretary and Controller of Examination,s which would take immediate action in case of any complaints from areas during the examinations, said the Board secretary.

He also said that the Board has informed the central superintendents about the despatch of OMR sheets through the District Education Officers (DEOs), who have briefed them on their duties and responsibilities in the conduct of examinations.

Meanwhile, the Board today began the despatch of the question papers in the second and last phase to all 302 nodal centres in the state after these centres received the first phase question papers on Thursday.
