Odisha is facing twin challenges, we shall win it: CM Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of cyclone Yaas amidst the second wave of COVID-19  pandemic, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged the people of the state to wear double masks while facing the two challenges.

In a video message addressing the people of the state, Patnaik said, “We have to act more carefully for the twin challenges.  Whether you are in cyclone shelter or in your own house, I request all of you to wear double masks. Besides, wash and sanitize your hands frequently. In view of the situation, I have directed all Collectors to distribute masks among people through SHGs.”

He also stressed on wearing of double masks post the cyclone.

Seeking people’s cooperation during evacuation ahead of the cyclone, the CM said “Odisha has always performed well in tackling natural disasters with full cooperation from all, including public, Panchayat Representatives and civil societies. Now the Government is ready to tackle both COVID and Cyclone Yaas situations. You cooperation will strengthen our preparedness for the impending cyclone amid the prevailing pandemic situation.”
