Bhubaneswar: Pradeep Disari from Kalahandi joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal, here today.

He, along with over a hundred Congress workers officially joined BJD in the presence of party supremo Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas this morning.

“I am glad that Pradeep Disari with hundreds of his Congress followers have joined the BJD today. This will strengthen out party in Kalahandi district,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Disari stated that he was disrespected by Congress and overlooked by the party when it came to selection of candidates. “I was not invited to various party meetings, including the tribal summit in Gopalpur. It was disheartening for me and I decided to quit Congress. I am joining BJD today with my 500-odd supporters. I am hopeful for a ticket from Lanjigarh,” he said.
