Judo players of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) bagged 50 medals in the two-day State Judo Championship 2014-15 held at Nuagan in Odisha’s Ganjam district that concluded on August 31.
The KISS players bagged 20 gold, 12 sliver and 18 bronze medals in the championship.
A total of 29 girls and 19 boys of KISS had participated in the sub junior, youth, junior and senior events.
The KISS players who got gold medal are Subunide Majhi, Sabyasini Sabar, Mamini Majhi, Sangita Miniaka, Phulamani Hansdah, Jasmita Nayak, Tanuja Chhatria, Biswasini Nayak, Mukta Jani, Rasmita Nayak, Malati Marndi, Sankar Majhi, Chandramani Pradhan, Bikram Mundal, Jayanta Murmu and Puspa Kemprai.
13 sub junior players have been selected during this tournament to participate in the National Sub-Junior Judo Championship to be held at Chennai from October 5 to 10.
Besides, six players from the youth and junior categories have been selected to participate in the National Youth and Junior Judo Championship to be held at Meghalaya in December.
