Odisha: Justice Raghubir Das appointed as member of OHRC

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal has appointed Justice Raghubir Das, retired judge of the Orissa High court, as member of the Odisha Human Rights Commission.

Justice Das will act as a member of the commission with effect from the date he assumes charge of the office.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of the Section 22 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 (Act 10 of 1994), the Governor of Odisha is pleased to appoint Sri Justice Raghubir Das, former judge of Orissa High Court (Retired) to be the Member of Odisha Human Rights Commission with effect from the date he assumes charge of this office,” an official notification of the Odisha Law Department said.

Worth mentioning, Justice Das was earlier this year appointed by the State Government as the chairman of the commission of inquiry for probing into the missing of Ratna Bhandar keys of Sri Mandir in Puri.
