Odisha likely to experience rainfall during next 3 days

Bhubaneswar: With mercury soaring up to 39 degree Celsius in Odisha capital and crossing 35 at many places in the state before the end of February month, rainfall forecasted by the Regional Meteorological Centre during the next three days might bring respite for the people.

The Meteorological Centre has predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha in the next 24 hours.

It further warned of thunderstorm with gusty wind and lightning at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal during the next 24 hours.

As per the India Meteorological Department, a trough at 0.9 km above mean sea level from Chhattisgarh to north interior Karnataka now runs from interior Odisha to east central Arabian Sea across south Chhattisgarh, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.
