Odisha lockdown: Govt offices to function with 30 % staff strength

Bhubaneswar: In view of the extended COVID-19 lockdown with effect from June 1, Odisha Government today issued fresh guidelines regarding functioning of Government offices in the state.

As per the guidelines, all Government departments will function with 30 per cent strength of employees and officers of the rank of Deputy Secretary and above should attend office daily. However, the departments will have the liberty to decide the scale of operations and employee strength, keeping in view the incidence of infection among the employees and the workload, that of urgent nature in particular and ensure that essential Government work doesn’t suffer.

“It may be ensured that officers/ staff, who are not assigned duty on roster, should work from home with VPN provided to them for attending the regular and pending works. The employees with disability and pregnant women employees may be exempted from attending office and work from home,” the order issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department.

All the employees who are not attending office, must be available at headquarters to attend to any office work of urgent nature, at short notice on telephone at all times. Administrative Departments will decide about the scale of operations in sub-ordinate and field offices, the order reads.
