Sundargarh: A 53-year-old person of Odisha’s Sundargarh district died today, six days after he received the first dose of Covishield COVID-19 vaccine.
The deceased has been identified as Anadi Behera of Bileimunda in Hemagiri area of the district.
According to reports, Behera was administered the first dose of the vaccine on April 15. He later complained of fever.
On April 19, he went to the Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. However, he had to return home without any treatment as his COVID-19 test could not be conducted due to lack of antigen test kit at the healthcare facility.
While Behera was having lunch this afternoon, he collapsed after multiple seizure-like episodes. He was rushed to the Hemagiri Hospital, where doctor declared him dead.
