Baripada: Police arrested two persons working at a courier firm for allegedly replacing a mobile phone ordered by a customer with a body soap here in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

The accused persons were identified as Abhi Behera, the manager of a courier firm, and Prakash Nayak, the delivery boy of the same company.

The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by Bhimsen Mohanta with Town police station in Baripada.

According to reports, Bhimsen had ordered a mobile phone costs Rs 9,000 from a company, which had sent the product through a courier firm 'Delivery.com'. The accused Prakash had delivered the package to Bhimsen at his address on Dec 19 and collected the product's cost Rs 9,000.

However, Bhimsen found body soap and an old handset instead of the product that he had ordered from the company when he opened the package.

The police launched the probe into the incident following a written complaint by the victim.

After the investigation, police arrested the delivery boy and the manager for interrogation and seized four mobile phones, Rs 5,000 cash, a laptop and four ATM cards from their possession.
