Odisha man thrashed to death by relatives over land dispute

Balangir: A man was allegedly thrashed to death by his relatives over a land dispute at Katapali village in Khaprakhol block of Odisha’s Balangir district, today.

The dispute was prevailing between Panchanan Putel, the deceased, and his relatives. This morning around 7 am, Panchanan’s relatives attacked him with lathis, killing him on the spot.

On being informed, police reached the village with a scientific team and sniffer dogs, and started investigation. On the other hand, two of the accused, identified as Khyamanidhi and Prashant Putel, have surrendered before police.
