Odisha: Medical colleges in Balasore, Balangir get new names

Bhubaneswar: New government-run medical colleges in Odisha’s Balasore and Balangir districts have been named as Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital and Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital respectively.

After careful consideration, the government has pleased to name medical college in Balasore as Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital and medical college in Balangir as Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital, a statement issued by Health and Family Welfare Department said.

In June, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has granted Letter of Permission to these two medical colleges to conduct admissions from this year (2018-19 academic year).

At present, 100 MBBS seats in each college are available.
