Odisha migrant’s token of gratitude to B’wood actor Sonu Sood

Kendrapada: As a token of gratitude to Bollywood actor Sonu Sood for helping him return home amid the lockdown, a 32-year-old man from Odisha’s Kendrapada district opened a welding shop in the name of the actor.

Prashant Kumar Pradhan, who worked as a plumber in Kerala, was among the 168 migrants stranded in the state due to the lockdown. The Bollywood actor came to their rescue and helped all of them return to their hometowns safely by arranging transportation for them.

Prashant was having a harrowing time there in Kerala as he was unable to earn after the Government announced the COVID-19 lockdown. Like all the other migrants in the state, he tried and failed to return to his hometown as public transport was suspended due to the lockdown. That’s when actor Sonu Sood walked in and arranged for the safe return of all the stranded migrants, including Prashant, to their respective hometowns.

After returning to Kendrapada, an exhilarated Prashant decided to start a new source of livelihood. Accordingly, he set up his own workshop in the town and named it ‘ Sonu Sood Welding Workshop’.
