Odisha: Miscreants loot cash & gold, lock house from outside before fleeing    

Sundergarh: In a major heist, miscreants looted cash and gold worth lakhs of rupees from the house of a kerosene dealer at Lahangapada village under Lahunipada police limits in Sundergarh district last night.

A complaint has been lodged in this connection, following which police begun an investigation into the incident.

As per reports, the miscreants broke into the house of Hemant Mahanta late last night when all members of the family were in deep sleep. They looted cash and gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees kept in 10 almirahs in the house. After that, the looters locked the house from outside and fled the spot.

When the family members woke up this morning, they learnt about the loot and found the door locked from outside. Hemant later called up a neighbour asking him to open the door and later lodged a complaint at Lahunipada police station.
