Odisha: Miscreants shoot man for resisting loot

Jajpur: Two unidentified bike-borne armed miscreants shot at a man and his wife in broad daylight near Tilpada under Byree police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district today while the couple resisted their attempt to loot them.

According to reports, one person identified as Pabitra Kabi of Sribantapur who along with wife and his 3-year-old daughter was returning home on his bike from his in-laws house in Raijhar when he was accosted by bike-borne miscreants near Tilpada who attempted to snatch their gold ornaments.

While Pabitra tried to resist the miscreants from robbing them, they fired at him leaving him grievously injured.

Pabitra was rushed to the nearby hospital by locals and was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.

On being informed, Jajpur SDPO and Byree IIC rushed to the spot and have alerted nearby police stations to nab the miscreants.
