Nabarangpur: Mystery shrouds death of a missing woman, who was found  dead on a corn field  near Kenduguda village under Tentulikhunti block in Nabarangpur  district this morning.

The deceased identified as Purnima (23), wife of Sudhir Kumbhar of Kenduguda, was  missing for the last two days.

Meanwhile, the deceased woman's father Gouranga of Raighar has lodged a complaint with Tentulikhunta police after the former's in-laws informed him that she died by suicide. A police team led by Tentulikhunta PS  IIC Pramod Kumar Nayak reached the spot for an inquiry.  Later, the body was recovered in presence of Tentulikhunta Additional Tehsildar Ram Govind Parida and sent to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) for post-mortem.

On Thursday, Purnima went out taking food for her husband, who was working in the corn field at Khandia Guda near Kenduguda village. However, she did not return to the house after that. Today, she was found hanging in the corn field. Later, the family members  called up police and informed about the incident.

While it is yet to be ascertain whether it is a case of murder or suicide, the police have begun investigation from different angles. The cause behind the death will be ascertained once the post-mortem report comes in, said police.

Meanwhile, an unnatural death case has been registered at Tentulikhunta police station.
