Odisha MLA does a Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Know how

Malkangiri: In an incident drawing flak from various quarters, local MLA Manas Madkami was seen being carried by his supporters to cross a water-logged stretch during his visit to Motu panchayat in the district.

The act was captured on camera when MLA Madkami and Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi had visited the panchayat yesterday to take stock of welfare projects.

According to reports, in a bid to save the MLA’s costly shoes and clothes from getting wet, two of his supporters carried him through their hands amid ankle-deep water and helped him ascending a motor launch.

Madkami, however, said that it was his supporters love and affection.

“It was the overwhelming affection of supporters which prompted them to act in such manner. They felt elated while lifting me and crossing the water body,” the MLA said.

He said that he had not forced anybody to lift him for crossing the water body.

The incident resembles to that of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan being helped by his security men cross a water-logged stretch during his visit to a flood affected area last year.
