Tripathy, however, today claimed he was in no way connected with the chit fund scam.

Earlier in the day doctors conducted a health check up on Tripathy at the CBI office here and found his health condition and blood pressure well within normal parameters.

He was yesterday suspended from the BJD following his arrest by the CBI.

While the CBI has made it clear that it will move the court for a 14 day remand of Tripathy for further interrogations, the Banki MLA’s counsel Omprakash Ray had said they would oppose the move and seek the court directions for Tripathy’s interrogation at a hospital as his client has health issues following a major surgery two years ago and would need regular medical attention.
