Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, niece of Rairangpur MLA Naba Charan Majhi was found hanging at his quarters under Kharavela Nagar police limits in Odisha capital, today.

The deceased was a +2 Arts student of a private college in the city. The girl was staying at the quarters with her brother for the last one year.

According to reports, the girl slept last night after completing her studies. However, there was no response despite repeated knocks at the door of the room, this morning.

Suspecting foul play, her kin informed the police. The cops broke open the door and found the body hanging from a ceiling fan with a dupatta.

Police have recovered the body and sent it to the Capital Hospital here for post-mortem.

It is being suspected that the girl ended her life by hanging herself. The reason behind the suspected extreme act of the girl was yet to be ascertained by the police.

Further probe was underway.
