Odisha MLA’s son booked for raping woman

Rourkela: Biramitrapur legislator George Tirkey’s son has landed up in trouble as a woman has levelled serious allegations against the latter.

As per reports, a woman has filed a complaint against Rakesh Josh Tirkey for raping her on the pretext of marriage.

She has filed a complaint with Rourkela Mahila Police Station pertaining to the alleged exploitation.

Police have filed a complaint under section 376 (2) (N), 506 and 294 of IPC and are investigating into the matter.

The complainant recorded her statement before a magistrate under section 164 of CrPC.

The girl was blackmailing my son. If my son is at fault then he should face the law, Biramitrapur MLA George Tirkey said in his reaction.

George further added that they would furnish audio recordings as evidence to police in this connection.

Notably, the accused is a banker and is posted in Chhattisgarh.
