The movie industry in Odisha is geared up to release four movies during the upcoming Raja that has traditionally been the best time for new releases of Odia films.

Studio executives are locked in a war of sorts with each other to book theatres given the small number of them in the state. While there are about 10 movies ready for release, only four are slated to be released during the Raja since there simply aren’t enough theatres to accommodate all of them.

The most awaited movie to be released during Raja this year would be an Anubhav-Barsha starrer titled ‘Gapa Helebi Sata’. It has been directed by Murali Krishna. The story portrays the journey of the actor from childhood through to his marriage.

The second in line named ‘Super Michhua’ is directed by Ashok Pati with Babushan and Jhilik as the lead actors. Comic scenes, coupled with an item number by Bengali girl Jhilik, are the special attraction of this film.

Another in line for release is Chandi Parija’s ‘Love You Hamesha’, which is a triangular love story  starring Arindam, Jhilik and Anisha. The fourth one is Basant Sahu’s ‘Pilata Bigidi Gala’ that will have Sabyasachi and Archita in lead roles.

However, the final call on releases is yet to be taken.

Apart from these movies, a few others eyeing a Raja release are Amar Pati’s Anubhav-Barsha starrer ‘Chandrabhaga’, Sudhanshu Sahu’s ‘Raghupati Raghav Rajaram’ with Pupinder, Sidharth and Debashis in lead roles and three debutant actresses, Sushant Mani’s ‘Hello’ with two new comer actresses, Bijay Jena’s ‘Balighara’, Prashant Pal’s ‘Tu Mo Sapana Rani’ and Loknath Barik’s ‘Mo Dil Kahe Ilu Ilu’.
