Odisha MP urges Railways Min for world class status to Puri station

Bhubaneswar: BJD MP Pinaki Misra has urged Railways Minister Piyush Goyal for sanctioning funds for renovation and upgradation of Odisha’s Puri railway station to make it a world class one.

In a letter to Goyal, Misra said, “Puri railway station is still far removed from the world class railway station status that was committed to it by the Railway Ministry nearly a decade ago. I earnestly urge you to sanction special funds for the renovation and upgradation of Puri railway station to world class standards in the upcoming railway budget.”

The Puri MP further requested the Union Minister to consider connecting Bhubaneswar and Puri by rail link with the golden quadrilateral of Konark and Satapada in order to ensure that visitors who come to Puri get the benefit of seeing the magnificent Konark Temple and beach and also the marvellous Chilika Lake situated next to Satapada.
