Odisha: MPC College’s Commerce Dept HOD Manisha Sharma dies in road accident

Baripada: In a tragic incident, Maharaja Purna Chandra (MPC) Autonomous College’s Commerce Department HOD Manisha Sharma died in a road accident near the educational institution here, today.

According to reports, the mishap took place when she was returning home from the college on a scooter.

A speeding car hit the two-wheeler leaving Sharma critically injured. She was rescued and rushed to a hospital, where doctor declared her dead.

The driver of the car fled the spot after the accident. Tension ran high on the college road as hundreds of irate students staged dharna demanding immediate arrest of the car driver.

On being informed, police reached the spot and tried to pacify the students.
