Odisha NDRF official deployed on Amphan duty tests COVID-19 positive

Cuttack: A personnel of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) from Odisha who had returned from West Bengal after restoration work post cyclone Amphan has tested positive for coronavirus.

The official is posted at NDRF unit at Mundali in Cuttack district.  Following his return from the neighbouring state, his swab sample was collected a couple of days ago. On Friday, he tested positive for COVID-19.

Reportedly, swab samples of six personnel of NDRF Mundali unit were collected after their return from West Bengal.  All of them were under home quarantine. Of the six, one tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, 300 members of Fire Services and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), who served on ground zero post cyclone Amphan in West Bengal, returned to the state yesterday. They have been sent to quarantine centres and their swabs have been collected for test.
